Our first neighborhood we want to highlight is Sunnyland. This vibrant and walkable neighborhood is located west of the 5 and North of Whatcom creek. It’s a diverse mix of many eclectic and well-kept multifamily, single family homes, and local businesses.
Cutesy and charming, this neighborhood boasts 2 breweries, Kulshan Brewery and Twin Sisters Brewery. Trader Joes and Youngstocks Nursery are two great places to pick up groceries and Sunnyland has quite a few spots to grab a bite to eat. Homeskillet, featured on“You Gotta Eat Here!”, has really yummy breakfast options. Greens Corner and Avenue Bread offer some good eats, and a newcomer to the neighborhood is the Filling Station where you can grab a great burger and fries. Hardware Sales is your go to hardware store to find some of those really difficult to find items you might need for your home improvement projects. Two parks also serve the area, Memorial Park, and Sunnyland Park, are nice spots to go for a quick stroll or hang up a hammock and take a snooze.
